Ocean Reach Brewing is an independent craft brewery based on beautiful Phillip Island, Victoria, producing award-winning beers enjoyed across regional Victoria and beyond.

We are seeking an experienced Production Manager (Brewing) to lead our day-to-day brewery operations. This is a permanent, full-time, hands-on leadership role within a small production team, ideal for an experienced brewer who enjoys taking ownership of brewery production while remaining actively involved in brewing, cellar operations and continuous improvement.

About the Role

n

Reporting directly to the Director, you will coordinate brewery production to ensure our beers are consistently produced safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.

n

Working in a small team, you will be involved in every stage of the brewing process, from production planning and raw material management through to fermentation, packaging and quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities

n

- Plan and coordinate brewery production schedules.
n
- Manage brewing, fermentation, maturation and cellar operations.
n
- Oversee packaging operations, including kegging and canning.
n
- Monitor product quality through laboratory testing, sensory evaluation and quality assurance procedures.
n
- Maintain accurate brewing, production and quality records.
n
- Manage raw material procurement and inventory levels.
n
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
n




- Ensure compliance with food safety, workplace health and safety requirements.
n
- Assist with recipe implementation and recent product development.
n
- Work collaboratively within a small team while providing technical leadership.
n

About You

n

To be successful in this role you will have:

n

n
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a commercial brewing environment.
n
- A recognised brewing qualification is preferred. Equivalent commercial brewing experience will also be considered.
n
- Demonstrated experience across brewing operations, fermentation management and quality assurance.
n
- Experience with production planning and inventory management.
n
- Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
n
- A commitment to producing consistently high-quality beer.
n
- Ability to work independently within a small production team.
n

Desirable

n

- Experience in an independent or craft brewery.
n
- Experience using brewery production software.
n
- Forklift licence.
n
- Experience operating automated brewhouse, cellar and packaging equipment.
n
