About the Role

n

Our client is a VIC government organisation based in Malvern, VIC. They are currently seeking a Payroll Officer to come in and work with them on a temp contract until 28th August 2026.

n

Candidates for this role must have:

n

n
- Proven high volume end to end payroll processing experience
n
- Experience with Aurion, or Technology One payroll systems
n
- Previous local government experience (Highly desirable)
n
- High level customer service experience and well developed interpersonal skills
n

n

Key responsibilities will include:

n

n
- End-to-End Payroll Processing: Manage and execute the fortnightly payroll for up to 1,060 employees, ensuring full compliance with superannuation, taxation, and accident compensation obligations.
n
- Award and Compliance Interpretation: Accurate interpretation and application of Council's Enterprise Agreement, relevant modern awards, statutory regulations, and internal policies.
n
- Technical Advice & Dispute Resolution: Provide high-quality support and accurate advice to resolve complex employee payroll inquiries and service needs effectively.
n
- Stakeholder & Customer Relations: Deliver responsive,



professional service to both internal and external customers to build and maintain positive working relationships.
n
- Process Improvement Initiatives: Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities within customer service and payroll administration to enhance organizational efficiency.
n

About You

n

You will be a highly experienced Payroll qualified with proven experience and reliability in previous positions. The successful candidate will possess:Proven high volume end to end payroll processing experience

- Experience with Aurion, or Technology One payroll systems
n
- Previous local government experience (Highly desirable)
n
- High level customer service experience and well developed interpersonal skills
