Senior Mental Health Clinician

Queensland Corrective Services is looking for a senior mental health clinician to join the QCS Mental Health Services team in Far North Queensland at Lotus Glen Correctional Centre.

n

As a Senior Mental Health Clinician, you will provide inclusive mental health and well‐being services that are culturally secure and deliver impactful rehabilitative care to a diverse prison population. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to assess, plan and intervene to promote mental health and well‐being for adults in the Centre.

Key responsibilities:

n

n
- Deliver high‐level clinical services within a multidisciplinary team.
n
- Conduct assessment and interventions that promote mental health and well‐being.
n
- Operate independently to manage complex situations and presentations.
n
- Work closely with Mental Health Team Leaders to support clinical tasks, case conferencing and supervisory requirements.
n
- Provide clinical practice supervision to less experienced clinicians.
n
- Contribute to team capability development through supervision and feedback.
n
- Use analytical and problem‐solving skills to respond to changing priorities.
n

About you:

n

n
- Demonstrable expertise providing clinical services of a complex nature.
n
- Can provide clinical practice supervision to less experienced clinicians.
n
- Possesses high‐calibre interpersonal and communication skills to build effective working relationships and negotiate outcomes with a variety of stakeholders.
n
- Well‐developed written communication skills and ability to produce excellent quality professional reports and case notes.
n
- Ability to interpret and apply legislation, policies and procedures in both clinical and team support contexts.
n

Mandatory requirements:

n

n
- Tertiary qualifications in Psychology and membership with APHRA.
n
- or Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Therapy or Social Work, with eligibility for membership or registration with AHPRA and/or AASW.
n
- C Class Driver's Licence.
n
- Post‐graduate qualifications in mental health would be highly regarded.
n
