Meriton Suites is currently seeking a Maintenance Officer to support our Surfers Paradise, Gold Coast property.

About the Role

n

As a Maintenance Officer you will work to ensure our property is safe, well maintained and well presented. You will work as part of high performing maintenance team.

n

Your key responsibilities

n

n
- Fitting, testing, repairing and replacing fixtures and fittings, including lightbulbs, windows, doors, and handrails.
n
- Performing basic plumbing maintenance and repairs on taps, basins and toilets.
n
- Performing basic carpentry, including hanging and replacing doors and operating power tools.
n
- Performing minor welds to fabricate or repair fixtures.
n
- Checking safety equipment such as fire hoses, fire extinguishers, smoke detectors and alarms.
n
- Reporting requirements for significant repairs to management.
n
- Clearing gutters and common areas of rubbish and debris.
n
- Applying and repairing paint and plaster.
n
- Changing locks on doors and windows.
n

To be successful in this role you willhave

n

n
- Familiarity with maintenance officer/handyman duties or hold an applicable trade.
n
- Exposure in a hotel environment is highly desirable.
n




- A high level of attention to detail.
n
- The ability to work independently.
n
- Have full availability to work a 7-day rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays (shift time between 7 am and 11 pm).
n
- Professional approach in dealing with guests and other staff members whilst carrying out your daily tasks.
n
- Must pass a Work Health Physical Assessment/Drug and Alcohol test prior to employment.
n
