Lead a respected Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service into its next chapter

Bullinah Aboriginal Health Service is seeking an exceptional Aboriginal leader to lead the organisation through an exciting period of growth.
n
With a new purpose-built health hub opening this year and a new Strategic Framework guiding the future, this is a unique opportunity to work with a committed Board, dedicated staff and community to strengthen health and wellbeing outcomes for Goori people across the Northern Rivers.

The leader we're seeking

The Board is looking for a visible and approachable leader who builds trust, values relationships and leads with integrity.
n
You'll enjoy working alongside community, Elders, the Board and staff. You'll know how to bring people together, build a positive culture and create an environment where people feel supported, valued and accountable.
n
You'll be a strategic thinker with the ability to lead a complex organisation while maintaining a strong connection to community. You'll make sound decisions, communicate openly and have the confidence to lead through change while staying true to Bullinah's values.

Above all, you'll be committed to Aboriginal community control and improving outcomes for Goori people.
n
About the role
n
Reporting to the Board of Directors, you'll provide strategic, cultural and operational leadership across Bullinah Aboriginal Health Service.
n
You'll lead the implementation of Bullinah's Strategic Framework, oversee the transition into the new health hub and ensure the organisation continues to deliver high‐quality, culturally safe and community‐led services.
n
You'll also represent and advocate for Bullinah while strengthening relationships with community, government, funding bodies and sector partners while maintaining strong governance, financial sustainability and organisational performance.

What you'll bring

We're looking for a leader who combines strategic capability with genuine community connection. You'll bring:

- Significant executive or senior leadership experience.
n
- A robust understanding of Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations and the principles of community control.
n
- The ability to build trusted relationships with Aboriginal communities, Boards, government and key stakeholders.
n
- Experience in strategic leadership, governance, financial management and organisational performance.
n
- A track record of leading change, developing people and building high‐performing teams.
n
- A genuine commitment to culturally safe services and better outcomes for Aboriginal communities.
n
n

- $180,000 base salary plus superannuation.
n
- Generous not‐for‐profit salary packaging.
