Your role

The Registrar (or Deputy Registrar in a larger registry) leads a team to deliver high-quality court and registry services, ensuring statutory and administrative obligations are met. The role is part of the senior leadership team of Court Services. In addition to the responsibilities at Port Macquarie, the role will partner with the senior leader at Coffs Harbour to ensure the Coffs Harbour hub locations operations and teams are developed and supported, that cooperative and high-performing workplaces exist, and drives service excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.

What you’ll do

- Lead and manage registry operations to ensure efficient service delivery, compliance with legislation, policies, and procedures, and oversight of smaller registry locations where required.
- Provide strategic leadership and people management, building a collaborative, high-performing, and customer-focused team culture that supports wellbeing, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Partner with the Regional Director/Registrar by providing timely advice, reporting, and recommendations on operational performance, risks, budgets, and reform initiatives.
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships with the judiciary, government agencies, community organisations, and court users to enhance service delivery and achieve shared outcomes.
- Drive innovation and change, leading the implementation of business improvements, regional strategies, and reform programs that strengthen court services and client experience.
- Exercise delegated judicial and statutory responsibilities, including performing quasi-judicial functions and ensuring fair, professional, and consistent decision-making.
