The Opportunity
n
Our client is a well-established and growing electronic security business expanding its technical team in Victoria. They are looking to bring on a Junior Service Technician who can support the field team and develop into a well-rounded technician over time.
n
This is not a role where you will be left to figure things out on your own. It is designed as a growth position, working closely with a senior technician to build your capability across both project installations and service work.
n
The business believes strongly in developing hybrid technicians rather than splitting people into narrow project-only or service-only roles. That means you will gain exposure to a variety of technical work, from installation and fit-off through to fault finding, maintenance and troubleshooting.
n
Based in Melbourne, you will service clients across metropolitan areas and, when required, wider Victoria.
n
The Role
n
n
- Assist with the installation and servicing of CCTV, alarm, intercom and access control systems
n
- Support senior technicians with project work, fit-off and deployment of new security infrastructure

- Attend service call-outs and assist with troubleshooting, fault finding and repairs
n
- Carry out preventative maintenance across a range of electronic security systems
n
- Liaise professionally with clients on-site regarding service and technical matters

- Travel to client sites across Sydney and broader NSW when required
n
- Visit the office once or twice per week to collect parts, replenish stock and prepare equipment
n
- Work closely with the wider technical team to build your knowledge across both installations and service
n
n
About You

n
- You have around 2 to 3 years of experience, similar to a 2nd or 3rd year electrical or security apprentice
n
- You could come from an electrical apprenticeship, security apprenticeship, cabling background, or a junior technician role within a related field
n
- You already understand the basics of cabling, tools, installation environments and job site protocols
n
- You are comfortable working on construction sites and using ladders safely
n
- You have a genuine interest in electronic security systems and want to build a long-term career in the industry
n
- You are well presented, reliable and take pride in your work
n
- You communicate well with clients and teammates
n
- You are organised, have good time management and can follow direction well

n
n
- Join a supportive team that wants to develop your technical skills properly
n
- Learn from experienced technicians in the field rather than being thrown in the deep end
n
- Gain exposure to both project and service work, building a stronger long-term skill set
n
- Work for a business that is growing and creating new roles due to expansion
n
- Enjoy the tools you need to do the job, including vehicle, fuel card, laptop and phone
n
- Build a career in a specialist industry with solid future demand
n

If you are a junior technician or apprentice-level candidate looking to grow your career in electronic security, we would love to hear from you.
