Role
n
Reporting to the Yard ManagerGM of Operations and based in Smeaton, Victoria, the Production Coordinator – Animal Nutrition will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Bulk Shed, including processing, handling, logistics, quality control, maintenance and site hygiene. This is a Monday to Friday role with adhoc weekday and weekend overtime and call outs expected.

This role carries 3 direct reports (Warehouse Packing and Yard Operators)Operators) and is accountable for ensuring the Bulk Shed operates efficiently, safely, and in compliance with DAFF and Feed Protected regulations.
n You will look after the following:
n
n
- Manage the day-to-day operations and activities in the Bulk Shed.
n
- Receive and action the production schedule in conjunction with the Mill Production Manager.
n
- Manage diet formulations in the Skiold batching system and oversee batching of all stockfeed orders.
n
- Monitor bulk shed batching performance against production and quality standards, and manage Quality Control systems within the Bulk Shed.
n
- Manage day to day operations, equipment and people within the Bulk Shed, with a focus on continuous improvement and staff engagement.
n
- Oversee labour requirements in conjunction with the Yard Manager,
GM Operations (VIC) and People & Culture Manager, including rostering, leave, performance management and issue resolution.
n
- Maintain effective working relationships with the Smeaton Weighbridge team and the Smeaton Production Manager & /Coordinator to ensure smooth coordination across scheduling, production and freightlogistics.
n
- Promote a positive, safety-first culture — conducting regular safety audits and risk assessments, and ensuring hazards, near misses and incidents are reported and managed appropriately.
n
- Complete daily and monthly stocktakes.
n

Skills Required
n Most importantly, this is a business of dynamic and passionate manufacturing professionals. As such the ideal candidate will come from a stockfeed, feed milling or bulk handling background who is hands-on, safety-conscious and passionate about people.
n
n
- Experience in a team leader, supervisor or management role within a manufacturing or logistics environment.
n
- Stockfeed industry (or similar) experience is desirableessential.
n
- Demonstrated experience managing and developing a team.
n
- Proficiency in manufacturing software and ERP systems.
n
- Mechanically minded / exposure to first line maintenance on industrial equipment (e.g. drag chains, augers, bucket elevators)
n
- Problem solving skills and a solutions-focused approach.
n
- Experience working in a culturally diverse workplace.
n
- Current driver's licence essential; forklift, telehandler, EWP, working at heights or confined space tickets highly regarded.
n
- Comfortable working in confined spaces, at heights, and in dusty environments as required.
