Job Description

Tenterfield Shire Council is establishing a talent pool of versatile Administration and Customer Service Officers to step into short-term, casual, and on-call vacancies across our departments. You'll be the friendly face and voice of Council, delivering accurate and efficient clerical, reception, and administrative support.

- Provide quality frontline customer service and handle face-to-face and telephone enquiries professionally and courteously.
n
- Receipt EFTPOS, direct deposit, Post Billpay, Bpay, and credit card payments, balancing and reconciling daily.
n
- Register companion animals and maintain the online register while setting up Council rooms for meetings.
n
- Prepare correspondence, reports, and forms, and undertake photocopying, scanning, collating, binding, and laminating.
n
- Process outgoing mail, assist with daily Post Office runs, banking reconciliations, and administrative support across departments.

What You Need

n

n
- Certificate III in Business or Administration, or prior experience in customer service and administrative support.
n
- Demonstrated experience in cash handling and proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, and database applications.
n
- Ability to coordinate tasks, set priorities,



and work to timelines in a pressured workplace with sound problem-solving skills.
n
- Well-developed oral and written communication skills to relate to people from diverse social and cultural backgrounds.
n
- A current Class C Australian Driver's Licence (previous Local Government experience is highly regarded).
n
