About the role

n

We are seeking a capable and detail-oriented Lighting Designer to join our growing team. In this role, you will prepare lighting layouts, calculations, product schedules and design documentation for a wide range of commercial and industrial projects. You will work closely with clients, consultants, contractors and internal teams to ensure each design is practical, compliant and aligned with project requirements.

What you'll be doing

- Preparing lighting layouts, concepts, calculations and technical documentation.
n
- Using lighting design software AGi32 or similar to assess light levels and performance.
n
- Interpreting architectural drawings, electrical plans, project briefs and client specifications.
n
- Selecting suitable LED lighting products, control options and installation solutions.
n
- Preparing product schedules, mark-ups, proposals and supporting design documents.
n




- Liaising with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers and internal project teams.
n
- Supporting sales, estimating and project delivery teams with technical design advice.
n
- Keeping up to date with LED technology, lighting controls and industry best practice.
n

Skills and experience

n

n
- Previous experience in lighting design, electrical design, illumination engineering, architectural lighting or a related technical design role.
n
- Proficiency in AGi32 or similar lighting design software.
n
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, electrical and construction drawings.
n
- Good knowledge of LED lighting products, lighting controls and energy-efficient design principles.
n
- In-depth understanding of Australian lighting standards and compliance requirements.
n
- Solid communication skills and ability to work with clients, consultants and internal teams.
n
- Relevant qualification in lighting design, illumination engineering, electrical engineering, interior design, building design or a related field is desirable.
