We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager / Project Manager to lead our engineering function and deliver major capital projects across Australia and internationally.

n

This is a hands‐on leadership role responsible for team performance, project delivery, and continuous improvement, with a strong focus on accountability, efficiency, and commercial outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

n

Leadership & Team Development

n

Lead and develop a multidisciplinary engineering team (Australia & China)

n

Set clear priorities, performance expectations and accountability standards

n

Build a high-performance, solutions-focused team culture

n

Recruit, develop and retain engineering talent locally and offshore

n

Project Delivery

n

Take full ownership of project outcomes (schedule, budget, quality)

n

Allocate resources and manage engineering workloads across projects

n

Ensure projects meet scope, milestones and handover requirements

n

Drive accountability for deadlines and delivery performance

n

Operations & Process

n

Improve engineering systems, workflows and project execution discipline

n

Forecast workloads and resource requirements

n

Coordinate closely with Sales, Operations, IT, Accounts and Marketing

n

Ensure structured project handover and execution standards

n





Commercial & Performance

n

Identify cost‐saving opportunities in design and manufacturing

n

Drive margin improvement across projects

n

Maintain solid budget control and commercial focus

n

Innovation & Strategy

n

n
- Drive innovation in engineering methods and product development
n
- Actively identify and implement new technologies (including AI) to improve efficiency, reduce cost and increase output
n
- Challenge existing processes and lead continuous improvement initiatives
n
- Contribute to broader company strategy and growth initiatives
n

n

About You

n

Proven experience managing engineering teams and project delivery

n

Strong commercial mindset with focus on cost, margin and outcomes

n

Proactive in adopting new technologies and improving systems (including AI and automation tools)

n

Experience working with or managing offshore teams is highly regarded

n

Effective communicator across technical and non-technical stakeholders

n

High level of accountability with a "ownership" mindset

n

Remuneration & Incentives

Competitive base salary (negotiable based on experience)

Performance-based bonus linked to KPIs and project outcomes

Includes metrics such as project delivery (time/cost), team performance, and margin improvement

Reporting Structure

n

Reports to: GM – Engineering & Operations

n

Manages: Mechanical & Electrical Engineers (AU & China), with team expansion planned
