Best Western Cattle City Motor Inn is a well-established 3.5-star motel located in Rockhampton, Queensland. Conveniently positioned on Gladstone Road, the motel offers 33 quality guest rooms together with the fully licensed Blue Heeler Restaurant & Bar, conference and function facilities, complimentary Wi-Fi, on-site parking and an outdoor pool. We are committed to providing exceptional customer service and maintaining high operational standards for both leisure and corporate travellers.

Due to ongoing business operations, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Motel Manager to oversee the daily management of our accommodation business and ensure exceptional guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Managing the day-to-day operations of the motel to ensure effective and profitable business performance.
n
- Leading, supervising and supporting reception, housekeeping, food and beverage and maintenance staff.
n
- Preparing staff rosters and coordinating daily staffing requirements.
n
- Recruiting, training and mentoring employees while monitoring staff performance.
n
- Ensuring outstanding guest service standards and promptly resolving guest enquiries and complaints.
n
- Monitoring reservations, occupancy rates, pricing strategies and revenue performance.
n
- Implementing operational procedures and quality assurance systems to improve efficiency and guest satisfaction.
n
- Managing operational budgets, purchasing and stock control.
n
- Coordinating maintenance and repairs to guest rooms, public areas and motel facilities.

- Liaising with suppliers, contractors, travel agents, online travel agencies and corporate clients.
n
- Ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety, food safety and relevant hospitality legislation.
n
- Preparing management reports and recommending strategies to improve operational and financial performance.
n

Applicants must possess:

n

- At least 1 year of full-time management experience in a motel, hotel or accommodation establishment.
n
- A relevant qualification in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management or Business together with relevant industry experience.
n
- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
n
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
n
- Experience using hotel reservation and property management systems.
n
- Strong organisational, financial and problem-solving skills.
n
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays where required.
