Basin Sands Logistics (BSL) is a privately owned Australian company providing transport, logistics and mining support services throughout Far West New South Wales and the Murray Darling Basin.

Due to continued business growth and the expansion of our long-term mining contracts, we are seeking an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our professional maintenance team based in Broken Hill.

n

About the Role

n

Working from our Broken Hill workshop, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a modern fleet of heavy transport equipment and mobile plant to ensure maximum reliability and operational performance.

n

Our fleet includes:

- Mack and Kenworth prime movers
n
- Road train combinations and heavy trailers
n
- Front-end loaders
n
- Kalmar Reach Stackers
n
- Graders
n
- Water carts
n
- Civil construction equipment
n
- Road maintenance plant
n
- Ancillary mining support equipment
n

n

Your responsibilities will include:

n

n
- Preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing
n
- Mechanical repairs and component replacement
n
- Engine, transmission and brake repairs
n
- Hydraulic diagnostics and repairs
n
- Breakdown diagnosis and repair
n
- Maintaining service records and workshop documentation
n
- Working safely and contributing to a positive team culture
n

About You

n

You will ideally possess:

n

n
- Trade qualification as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic, Plant Mechanic or equivalent
n
- Experience working on heavy vehicles, trailers and/or earthmoving equipment
n
- Robust diagnostic and fault-finding skills
n




- Good knowledge of hydraulic systems
n
- Ability to work independently and manage your workload
n
- Commitment to safety and quality workmanship
n
- Current Australian Driver Licence
n

n

The following would be advantageous but are not essential:

n

- HR, HC or MC Licence
n
- Forklift Licence
n
- High Risk Work Licence
n
- Air Conditioning Licence
n
- Experience within mining or civil construction
n

n

Experienced heavy vehicle mechanics looking to transition into mining support equipment are encouraged to apply.
