Business Development Manager - (GTO) Group Training Organisation

The foundation's built. Now we scale it. NexGen Pathways is an Aboriginal-owned Group Training Organisation, part of the Yalagan Group, on a mission to continue our growth. We need a hungry, relationship-driven BDM to build upon our and especially your NSW employer pipeline and drive that growth.

The Opportunity

n

This is a build & grow role, not a caretaking one. You will own current business development across NexGen's priority industries, Construction, Business Administration, Plant Ops and Warehousing/Logistics, starting with a solid base of existing training that have to be built upon with your own existing network in NSW. No direct reports (yet) — just a clear mandate, a dynamic team behind you, and a straight line to the Director while we grow.

What You'll Do

- Hunt down and win new host employers across Construction, Business Administration, Plant Ops and Warehousing/Logistics, building on your primarily and our secondary NSW pipeline
n
- Build and run your own BD plan, territory list, and CRM pipeline
n
- Convert relationships into signed host agreements and trainee/apprentice placements
n
- Work with operations to optimise placements against subsidy and incentive programs (ADMS, SAF)
n
- Get in front of industry bodies, RTOs, Apprenticeship Network Providers,



schools and employers to build NexGen's NSW presence
n
- Work is with our sister org and leading RTO in www.yrt.edu.au
n
- Report on activity, conversion and forecast

What You'll Bring

n

n
- Existing relationships and partners directly in selling traineeships/apprenticeships into markets in NSW, this is essential prerequisite
n
- Must have GTO trainneships/apprenticeships sales experience
n
- Runs on the board in business development / new business sales - ideally in vocational training, group training, recruitment, traineeships/apprenticeships and B2B services
n
- A knack for turning a first conversation into a signed contract
n
- Working knowledge of apprenticeship/traineeship funding and compliance
n
- Current NSW driver's licence and willingness to be on the road regularly
n
- Self-starter energy - comfortable building something in a lean, growing team
n

- Existing employer or industry network in NSW group training, trades, or vocational sectors
n
- Experience alongside working with an RTO, not essential
n
- A culturally responsive, equity-focused approach to partnerships
n
