Hawkins Transport QLD is looking for a Freight Handler to join our Cairns Depot.
n This role supports the protected and efficient handling of general and refrigerated freight bound for regional and remote Queensland communities.

n

Key Responsibilities:

n

n
- Loading and unloading freight of various sizes in a safe and compliant manner
n
- Support drivers with deliveries and pick-ups as required
n
- Handle a variety of goods with care, ensuring they are securely packed and protected
n
- Follow all safety procedures and depot protocols
n
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment to meet scheduled departure times
n
- Sort and stage freight accurately for designated delivery runs
n
- Ensure all consignments are clearly labelled and supported by the correct con notes
n
- Maintain clean and safe depot grounds and work areas
n




- Follow load plans and instructions from the Depot Supervisor
n
- Assist with general depot duties and customer freight collection when required
n

What You'll Need:

n

n
- Current forklift licence with experience loading freight
n
- Sound understanding of WHS and safe manual handling practices
n
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work to schedules
n
- Reliable and physically fit, with the ability to handle freight manually
n
- Able to work rostered shifts and adapt to changing priorities
n
- Previous experience in a transport, freight, or warehouse role is preferred
