My client who specialises in BCA consulting, DDA/accessibility compliance, and building certification services across a wide range of sectors, including commercial, residential, education, health, and government projects.

n

Senior Building Surveyor will lead and grow the Queensland operations, driving project delivery excellence and client relationships across the region.

n

This role would suit a Senior Building Surveyor looking to step into an Associate or State Managers role to ensure the business continues its solid trajectory in the QLD market.

n

Main Duties/Responsibilities:

n

n
- Lead the establishment and growth of Queensland operations, ensuring alignment with national business objectives.
n
- Oversee day-to-day operations, project delivery, and financial performance for the region.
n
- Mentor and support team members to develop a high-performance, values-driven culture.
n
- Maintain compliance with company standards, relevant legislation, and client expectations.
n
- Contribute to the development of team knowledge, culture, and technical excellence.
n

n

Client & Business Development

n

n
- Build and strengthen relationships with clients, including builders, developers, project managers, architects, and government stakeholders within the Queensland market.
n
- Identify and pursue new opportunities, leading proposals, bids, and presentations.
n
- Represent at industry events, forums,



and client meetings to enhance visibility and reputation.
n

n

Technical & Project Oversight

n

n
- Provide senior oversight and technical input
n
- Ensure projects meet standards for quality, timeliness, and commercial performance.
n
- Review technical reports and provide direction to ensure consistency and technical rigour across deliverables.
n
- Strong understanding of QLD legislation
n

n

Financial & Strategic Management

n

n
- Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and performance reports.
n
- Oversee project profitability and effective resource allocation.
n
- Contribute to national business planning, operational efficiency, and service innovation initiatives.
n

n

Skills & Experience /Qualifications

n

n
- Degree in Building, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
n
- Current QBCC Building Certifier Level 1 licence - preferred but open to none Level 1's
n
- Professional accreditation (e.g., RICS, AIQS, Engineers Australia, AIB) - desirable.
n
- Strong technical understanding of the Building Code of Australia
n

Experience

n

n
- Minimum 5 years' experience in building consultancy, engineering, or construction management.
n
- Demonstrated success in leadership, business operations, and team management.
n
- Proven capability to establish or expand a regional presence.
n
- Experience working with government – desirable
n
- Prior experience establishing or scaling a state or regional business unit.
n
