Public Sector People is partnering with a Sydney Council to recruit an experienced Communications Officer to support a busy and high-impact communications function.

The Role

n

You'll support the council's communications function by managing media, creating clear and engaging content, and helping deliver communication and marketing plans.

n

What you'll be doing:

- Write media releases, statements, and other communication materials
n
- Manage media enquiries and work with journalists
n
- Create content for digital and traditional channels
n
- Develop, deliver, and review communication and marketing plans
n
- Identify and promote positive stories about council services and projects
n

n

Do you have:

n

n
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
n
- Experience in media and public relations
n




- Previous experience working in local government
n
- Proven experience delivering communication campaigns
n
- Well organised, able to manage deadlines and multiple tasks
n
- Experience working for local government or a similar environment
n
