CRS is a premium Australian playground equipment manufacturer and design-and-construct business, delivering commercial play products to councils, schools and landscape architects across NSW, QLD and VIC. We're looking for an experienced Fabrication Manager to take ownership of our Unanderra fabrication shop.

The Role

n

You'll run the day-to-day operations of our fabrication department — leading a small team of tradespeople and apprentices, keeping jobs moving on time and to spec, and staying hands-on where it counts. Our workshop specialises in lightweight fabrication for playground structures, not heavy structural steel — modern facility, wide-ranging work, clean environment. This is a genuine leadership role with real autonomy to run the shop your way.

What you'll be doing

n

n
- Managing daily fabrication shop operations — scheduling, quality, and output
n
- Leading, mentoring and training tradespeople and apprentices
n
- Hands-on fabrication and welding across aluminum, stainless steel, and steel when needed.
n
- Managing minor purchase ordering and material requirements through our internal ERP system
n
- Contributing fabrication-floor insight in production meetings — helping our design engineers land on smarter, more buildable solutions

- Ensuring WHS standards and Australian Standards compliance are upheld on the floor
n
- Coordinating with production, project management and design teams to keep jobs on track
n
- Maintaining quality control and troubleshooting issues as they arise
n

What we're looking for

n

n
- Proven experience running or supervising a fabrication team
n
- Strong welding skills across MIG/TIG and multiple materials, including steel, stainless steel and aluminium
n
- Confident reading and working from engineering drawings
n
- Comfortable using ERP/job management software for purchasing and materials tracking, but not essential full training provided
n
- Relevant licences (forklift an advantage but not essential full training provided)
n
- Comfortable working autonomously and making shop-floor decisions
n
