Job Description

We're looking for an experienced Operations Coordinator to join a well-established and supportive operations team, managing import and export shipments from start to finish.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone with a background in freight forwarding or logistics who enjoys taking ownership, working with precision, and delivering exceptional customer service. Hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm, with the opportunity to transition to a permanent role for the right candidate.

The Role

n

Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, your key responsibilities will include:

n

- Coordinating import and export shipments from booking through to final delivery
n
- Liaising with customers, suppliers, carriers and overseas offices to ensure smooth shipment execution
n
- Ensuring compliance with Australian Customs regulations and internal Quality Management System (QMS) procedures
n
- Organising transport and monitoring shipments to meet customer service standards and KPIs
n
- Maintaining accurate shipment records, tracking information and system updates
n




- Processing invoicing within required timeframes
n
- Reviewing shipment files to ensure accurate costing and profitability
n
- Proactively communicating with customers regarding shipment updates, delays or changes
n
- Completing company collections using a company vehicle
n

About You

n

To be successful in this role, you will have:

n

n
- Previous experience in freight forwarding or logistics (essential)
n
- Cargo wise experience
n
- A solid understanding of export operations and documentation
n
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
n
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
n
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and freight management systems
n
- The ability to prioritise competing deadlines in a rapid-paced environment
n
- A proactive, customer-focused approach with excellent problem-solving skills
n
- A current Australian Driver's Licence
n
- Dangerous Goods knowledge (advantageous)
