Causmag International is a leading producer of high-grade magnesium products, supplying critical industries across Australia and beyond. We're seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to help us maintain and enhance our production capabilities through expert machining, assembly, and equipment maintenance located in Young, NSW Duties and responsibilities

- Interpret engineering drawings, maintenance manuals, and technical specifications
n
- Perform fitting and turning operations to manufacture, modify, and repair mechanical components using lathes, milling machines, drills, and grinders
n
- Maintain and repair mechanical plant and equipment including crushers, screens, conveyors, kilns, mills, loaders, pumps, gearboxes, and hydraulic systems
n
- Carry out preventative and breakdown maintenance on quarry and processing plant equipment
n
- Dismantle, inspect, repair, and reassemble mechanical assemblies
n
- Diagnose mechanical faults and implement corrective actions to minimise downtime
n
- Conduct alignment of shafts, bearings, and rotating equipment
n
- Perform minor welding, cutting,



and fabrication tasks as required and incidental to fitting duties
n
- Assist with installation and commissioning of new or upgraded mechanical equipment
n
- Ensure machinery operates safely and efficiently within production requirements
n
- Maintain tools, workshop equipment, and work areas in secure operating condition
n
- Comply with NSW WHS legislation, SWMS, lock-out/tag-out procedures, and site safety systems
n
- Complete maintenance records, job cards, and plant service documentation
n

Key Skills and Attributes:

n

n
- Trade qualification as a Fitter and Turner (Cert III or equivalent)
n
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems and machining processes
n
- Minimum 3 years' experience with lathe operation and precision fitting
n
- A proactive approach to safety and quality
n
- Team-oriented mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement
n

Salary range is $65,000 - $85,000 PA commensurate with experience Fulltime position available Applications open on 13th July 2026 and closes on 13th August 2026
