About the Role

n

We are seeking a Senior Project Accountant to join our Advisory Services finance team in Sydney. Reporting directly to the Finance Director - Advisory Services, this role plays a key part in supporting the Project & Development Services (PDS) finance function.

n

You will provide financial insight, commercial support, and accurate reporting across a portfolio of projects, working closely with Project Managers and senior stakeholders. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with solid project accounting experience who enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

n

- Update and maintain Work in Progress (WIP) reporting based on Finance Control Sheets from Project Managers
n
- Prepare monthly client billings, revenue and expense accruals, including supporting documentation
n
- Assist with Percentage of Completion (PoC) calculations, ensuring accuracy and compliance
n
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger in line with accounting policies
n
- Support month-end activities, including accruals, margin analysis, and cash flow reporting
n
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing required documentation and insights
n
- Provide financial guidance and training to Project Managers on budgets, cost tracking, and processes
n




- Identify and drive process improvements across finance operations
n
- Provide ad hoc support to the Finance Lead and broader finance team
n

About You

n

n
- CA or CPA qualified (or currently working towards)
n
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance, or Accounting
n
- 3+ years' experience in project accounting, with strong exposure to Percentage of Completion (PoC) methodology
n
- Solid understanding of IFRS 15 and its application in project-based environments
n
- Broad accounting experience (ideally 5+ years) with strong technical capability
n
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
n
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
n
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
n
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality output
n
