Smith & Co Recruitment is partnering with a well-established Australian manufacturing business with a strong reputation for quality, innovation, and long-term success. They are currently seeking an experienced Corporate Accountant to join their team. This is a hands-on commercial accounting opportunity where you'll work closely with senior leadership, production, and operations to improve business performance through financial insight, manufacturing costing, and commercial analysis.

The Opportunity
n
Reporting to the company Director, you'll play a key role in managing the company's financial performance while partnering with operations and production to maximise profitability. Working within a small corporate team, you'll take ownership of budgeting, reporting, manufacturing costing, inventory analysis, financial controls, and process improvement while leading the Accounts and Reception team.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
- Prepare budgets, forecasts, cash flow reports, and monthly management reporting.
n
- Analyse manufacturing costs, job costing, WIP, inventory, gross profit, and production variances.
n
- Monitor business performance and provide commercial insights to improve profitability.
n
- Coordinate stock reconciliations, inventory reporting, and new product costing.
n
- Prepare statutory reporting, month-end reporting, and liaise with external auditors.
n
- Manage debtor reporting, cash flow, and customer account reconciliations.
n
- Utilise Epicor ERP to manage costing, reporting, and financial performance.
n
- Lead the Accounts and Reception team while driving continuous improvement across finance processes.

About You
n
n
- 5+ years of previous experience as a Corporate/ Company Accountant or similar role.
n
- Strong manufacturing accounting experience, including job costing, WIP, inventory accounting, and manufacturing variances.
n
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and commercial analysis.
n
- CA or CPA qualified (or working towards).
n
- Advanced Excel skills and ERP experience (Epicor highly regarded).
n
- Foreign currency, import/export, or commercial contract experience will be highly regarded.
n
- A commercially minded, hands-on approach with the ability to build solid relationships across finance, production, and operations.
