As the business continues to grow and evolve, we are investing in the next generation of the Peter Jackson retail experience. We're now seeking a passionate and hands-on Store Designer to join our team on an initial six-month contract and play a key role in shaping how our brand comes to life in-store.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially minded and creatively driven designer who enjoys working in a fast-moving retail environment and taking projects from an initial concept through to delivery.

Store Designer – Six-Month Contract
n
Working hybrid in Abbotsford head office and remotely, you will lead and coordinate the end-to-end design process across recent stores, refurbishments and store enhancement projects throughout Australia. In the down time, bringing previously drawn shops into CAD.
n
You'll work closely with our directors, internal teams, the landlord's RDM, shopfitters, and other project stakeholders to create retail environments that reflect the Peter Jackson brand and shopping experience.

This is a hands-on position suited to someone who can balance strong creative thinking with the practical requirements of delivering stores.

Key responsibilities
n
- Develop store concepts and layouts that bring the Peter Jackson brand and customer experience to life.
n
- Coordinate and manage store designs in line with brand standards, approved budgets, project timelines and operational requirements.
n
- Use CAD as the primary design tool to develop concept packs, layouts and supporting documentation.
n
- Brief and manage external builders, engineers, consultants and other design partners to ensure documentation aligns with approved concepts.
n
- Manage the design documentation process, including drawing reviews, revisions, approvals and alignment with project scope.
n
- Work closely with Leasing, Project Management, landlords, shopfitters, certifiers and relevant authorities to support successful project delivery.
n
- Review shopfitter pricing and identify value-engineering opportunities without compromising the overall design intent.
n
- Assist during construction and provide practical design solutions where site-specific issues arise.
n
- Keep key stakeholders informed about store works, refurbishment programs, timelines and any potential project impacts.
n
- Help improve Peter Jackson's store design standards, documentation and processes to deliver greater consistency and efficiency across the network.

About you
n
Our ideal candidate will have:
n
- Previous experience in retail, hospitality or commercial interior design.
n
- Strong proficiency in Revit and CAD,
with Adobe Creative Suite experience also highly regarded.
n
- Experience developing concepts and translating them into practical, detailed and commercially viable store designs.
n
- A strong understanding of construction documentation, specifications, materials and finishes.
n
- Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to work effectively with internal teams, consultants, landlords and contractors.
n
- Strong project coordination, organisation and time-management skills.
n
- A proactive and hands-on approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities and multiple projects.
n
- A keen creative eye, balanced by a clear understanding of budgets, timelines and operational requirements.
n
- Confidence working in a fast-paced and evolving retail environment.
