About the role
n
Mater is seeking compassionate and skilled Registered Nurses to join the Cardiac and Surgical Unit Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Mater Mothers' Hospital, Brisbane, in a full-time or part-time, permanent position.
n

This is an exciting opportunity to provide highly specialised nursing care to critically unwell and vulnerable neonates, while working within a collaborative, values-driven team in one of Australia's leading maternity and neonatal services.

In this role, you will deliver secure, evidence-based neonatal nursing care while supporting families during some of the most critical moments of their lives. Your responsibilities will include:

- Providing comprehensive nursing care to neonates with complex and critical care needs
n
- Advocating for infants and families, ensuring care is delivered with sensitivity to physical, emotional and spiritual needs
n
- Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to plan, deliver and evaluate patient care
n
- Maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and infection prevention practices
n
- Participating in quality improvement activities, research initiatives, and ongoing service development
n
- Supporting and mentoring students and less experienced staff, contributing to a positive learning environment
n
n
About you
n
You are a motivated and compassionate Registered Nurse who thrives in a critical care environment and is committed to delivering exceptional patient outcomes. You will bring:
n
n
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse
n
- Demonstrated experience working within a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
or comparable neonatal critical care setting (highly regarded)
n
- Strong clinical judgement, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
n
- Excellent communication and teamwork capabilities
n
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice
n
