REFOCUS is seeking a Team Leader – Family Services to provide operational leadership and practice oversight across programs supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, young people, and families.

n

About the role

n

As a Team Leader – Family Services, you will:

n

Provide day-to-day leadership, supervision, and support to frontline teams

n

Oversee program delivery across Family Participation,



Delegated Authority, Community and Kinship Care, and Family Finder programs

n

Ensure services are culturally secure, trauma-informed, and aligned with legislation and standards

n

Support placement stability, reunification, and positive outcomes for children and families

n

Lead documentation, reporting, and compliance requirements across programs

n

Build strong working relationships with Child Safety, families, and community stakeholders

n

Pay and conditions

n

SCHCADS Level 6 (based on experience and capability)

n

Classification level and pay rate are assessed and determined based on qualifications, experience, and demonstrated capability.

- Experience in child protection, family support, youth work, or related fields
n
- Demonstrated leadership or supervision experience in complex service environments
n
- Strong commitment to culturally safe and trauma-informed practice
n
- Ability to lead teams, manage performance, and support workforce development
n
- Strong communication, organisation, and stakeholder engagement skills
n

n

Qualifications and experience

n

Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Youth Work, Human Services, or related field

n

Minimum 3–5 years relevant industry experience

n

Knowledge of Queensland child protection legislation and frameworks

n

Additional requirements

- Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
n
- Criminal history check
n
- Current Drivers Licence
n
- Ability to meet REFOCUS compliance and reporting requirements
n
- Willingness to work flexible hours as required
n
- Ability to work within the 10 Child Safe Standards
