Senior Technology Project Manager – Publishing Transformation

A large media company is looking for an exceptional Senior Technology Project Manager to spearhead a critical workstream in an enterprise-scale program. You'll lead the technical delivery of a best-in-breed Planning and Authoring platform, replacing legacy systems with modern, story‐centric workflows that publish seamlessly across digital, social, and print—rolling out across more than thirty newsrooms.

This is more than a delivery role. It demands a commercially savvy leader with genuine emotional intelligence—someone who can read the room, unite editorial, operations, and technology leaders around a shared direction, and champion cultural change while still hitting the numbers on time and on budget.

What you'll be doing:

- Driving the technical rollout of the platform from early design through staggered deployment across 30+ newsrooms
n




- Partnering directly with top‐tier SaaS media vendors, holding them to rigorous governance and delivery standards
n
- Navigating a complex organisational matrix—aligning editorial, ops, and tech stakeholders around a digital‐first culture
n
- Overseeing data migrations, security protocols, and transition architecture as legacy systems are retired
n
- Owning critical path, scope, budget, and risk across the workstream from initiation to implementation
n

What you'll bring:

- 10+ years leading complex, multi-workstream transformation projects
n
- Deep experience with digital platforms, SaaS, and enterprise systems integration
n
- A proven track record managing top‐tier technology vendors — media/publishing domain experience highly regarded
n
- Strong grasp of digital publishing, content workflows, and what contemporary newsrooms need to thrive
n
- Disciplined program governance, with runs on the board delivering platform replacements and phased legacy migrations
