We are looking for a Quality Controller - Components to join our Quality team, supporting manufacturing operations to ensure the highest standards of product quality, compliance and customer satisfaction.
n
The Opportunity
n
As a Quality Controller, you will conduct product and process inspections to verify compliance with engineering drawings, specifications and process requirements.
n
You will play a critical role in identifying and managing non-conformities, implementing containment activities, and supporting corrective actions to ensure all products meet customer, regulatory and internal quality requirements.
n
Working closely with Production, Engineering and Quality teams, you will contribute to reducing the cost of non-quality, improving process capability and driving continuous improvement throughout the business.

Key Responsibilities

- Inspection & Compliancen n
- Conduct product and process inspections in line with engineering requirements.
n
- Verify compliance against drawings, specifications and manufacturing standards.
n
- Record inspection results and maintain accurate quality documentation.
n
- Validate product conformity prior to release.
n
n
- Non-Conformance Managementn
n
- Identify,
investigate and record non-conformances.
n
- Support containment activities to prevent further quality escapes.
n
- Participate in root cause investigations and corrective action implementation.
n
- Support concession reduction and defect prevention initiatives.
n
n
- Quality Improvementn
n
- Apply quality tools and problem-solving techniques to improve product quality.
n
- Support reduction of internal and external non-quality costs.
n
- Monitor quality performance and identify improvement opportunities.
n
- Contribute to continuous improvement activities across manufacturing operations.
n
n
- Safety & Compliancen
n
- Ensure compliance with quality, regulatory and HSE requirements.
n
- Follow approved procedures, work instructions and policies.
n
- Escalate product, process or safety concerns using company reporting systems.
n
n
n
Candidate skills & requirements
n
Essential Skills & Experience
n
n
- Time-served apprenticeship within a manufacturing environment. (NVQ Level 3 in a relevant field)
n
- Product and process inspection experience.
n
- Strong understanding of GD&T; and datum systems.
n
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
n
- Experience using metrology and inspection equipment.
n
- Knowledge of non-conformance management and anomaly investigation.
n
- Root cause analysis experience using 5 Why, Ishikawa, RCA and 8D methodologies.
n
- Understanding of quality standards and quality assurance processes.
n
- Ability to interpret technical documentation, process sheets and work instructions.
n
- Knowledge of Sheet Metal and/or Heat Treatment processes.
n
- Experience using SAP Quality Module.
n
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and quality software packages.
n
n
Desirable Skills & Experience
n
n
- Aerospace manufacturing experience.
n
- General aeronautical knowledge.
n
- Statistical Process Control (SPC) experience.
n
- Knowledge of capability studies and control charts.
n
- Experience using SPC Vision.
n
- Understanding of shelf-life controlled products.
n
- Knowledge of aerospace marking requirements.
n
- Experience leading containment and corrective actions.
n
- Continuous improvement experience.
n
- Quality-related qualifications or certifications.
n
