About the role

n

We are seeking a Retail Sales – Hardware & Timber specialist to join our team at our Niddrie VIC location. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in delivering outstanding customer service and driving sales across our hardware and timber departments. You will be the face of Johnson & Rielly Mitre 10, engaging with customers daily, providing product knowledge, and ensuring a positive shopping experience. This role is essential to our store's success and directly contributes to building solid customer relationships and achieving sales targets.

Key responsibilities

Provide expert product knowledge and recommendations to customers across our hardware and timber ranges, assisting them in selecting appropriate products for their specific needs

n

Engage with customers on the sales floor, greeting them warmly and identifying their requirements to offer tailored solutions

n

Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using point-of-sale systems, ensuring all transactions are handled professionally

n

Maintain product displays and ensure the sales floor is well-organised, clean, and visually appealing at all times

n

Conduct regular stock checks and assist with receiving, unpacking, and shelving new merchandise

n

Contribute to achieving team sales targets and key performance indicators through proactive customer engagement

n

Provide exceptional after-sales support,



addressing customer enquiries and resolving any issues professionally

n

Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth store operations and support colleagues during busy periods

n

Maintain knowledge of current promotions, special offers, and product availability to communicate effectively with customers

n

Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies at all times

n

What we're looking for

n

Previous retail or customer service experience, preferably within hardware, home improvement, or a similar retail environment

n

Strong product knowledge or demonstrated ability to quickly learn about hardware and timber products

n

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage confidently with diverse customer groups

n

A customer-focused mindset with a genuine desire to provide helpful, knowledgeable advice

n

Proven ability to work accurately and efficiently, particularly with point-of-sale systems and stock management

n

Physical capability to handle heavy items and work in a fast-paced retail environment

n

Reliability and punctuality with a positive, team-oriented attitude

n

Enthusiasm for the hardware and home improvement industry is highly desirable
