Lead Software Engineer (SSE II)

Salary: A$220,000.00-A$230,000.00

Responsibilities

n

n
- Architectural ownership of highly resilient APIs and microservices, setting the standard for technical excellence and maintainability.
n
- Drive technical alignment across teams to reconcile long‐term architectural health with business objectives.
n
- Take end‐to‐end technical ownership of significant features, setting the bar for code quality, testing, and robust architectural contribution within the squad.
n
- Identify and implement key improvements to core integration patterns, developer tooling, and system observability to elevate the engineering standard for the Checkout ecosystem.
n
- Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior and mid‐level engineers, championing modern engineering best practices.
n

Qualifications

n

n
- Hands‐on engineering experience building scalable systems in a commercial setting.
n
- Solid experience in .NET Core (C#) and modern frontend frameworks like React/Next.js.
n
- Extensive experience developing microservices and cloud‐native solutions on AWS (Kubernetes, Docker).
n
- Deep experience with API design, integration strategies, and APM.
n
- A mindset that embraces AI and new tools to adapt, learn, and grow.
n
- An aptitude for identifying and managing risks.
n
