Qualified cook with all round cooking skills wanted by Bay Bakery Cafe at Jurien on WA's mid-west coast. Bay Bakery Cafe is a busy bakery café serving a wide selection of freshly prepared breakfast, lunch, and takeaway meals. In addition to our bakery products, we prepare a substantial range of meals on-site, including gourmet burgers, fresh sushi, sandwiches, wraps, stir-fried noodles, salads, hot breakfast dishes, and other café-style meals. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Cook to join our kitchen team.

Standard

- $80,000 - $85,000pa/ Cert III qualified + 2 years experience;

- Fair Work National Employment

- Full/ time position with early starts;

n

- Prepare, season, and cook a wide variety of café meals, including burgers, stir-fried noodles, pasta dishes, breakfast meals, and other hot food items.

n

- Prepare fresh sushi, sandwiches, wraps, and salads in accordance with established recipes and presentation standards.

n

- Grill, fry, roast, steam, and stir-fry food using commercial kitchen equipment.

n

- Prepare fresh ingredients daily, including slicing meats, marinating proteins, preparing sauces, chopping vegetables, and portioning ingredients.

n

- Produce house-made sauces, gravies, dressings, and marinades to maintain consistent food quality.

- Monitor food preparation to ensure meals are cooked to the correct temperature and presented to a high standard.

n

- Maintain consistency in portion sizes and food presentation.

n

- Estimate daily food requirements and assist with ordering ingredients and managing stock levels.

n

- Inspect food supplies to ensure freshness and quality and rotate.

n

- Maintain a clean, organised, and hygienic kitchen in compliance with Food Safety Standards.

n

- Operate and maintain commercial kitchen equipment, including grills, deep fryers, ovens, rice cookers, sushi preparation equipment, and woks.

n

- Work efficiently during busy breakfast and lunch service periods while maintaining high food quality.

n

- Assist with developing seasonal menu items and daily specials.

Essential Requirements

n

n
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or an equivalent qualification.
n
- At least two years of relevant commercial cooking experience.
n
- Experience preparing a variety of café-style meals, including burgers, sandwiches, sushi, breakfast dishes, and Asian-style stir-fried meals.
n
- Sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and stock control procedures.
n
- Ability to work in a quick-paced commercial kitchen with minimal supervision.
n
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
