About the Role
n
We are seeking experienced and confident Disability Support Workers in Coburg (VIC) to support participants with complex behaviours and mental health diagnoses.
n You will be working closely with clinicians, behaviour support practitioners, and support coordinators to implement care plans that prioritise safety, dignity, and wellbeing.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
- Provide hands-on daily support and personal care to participants with complex needs
n
- Implement Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies in a calm, skilled manner
n
- Manage behavioural escalations with empathy and de-escalation techniques
n
- Support participants with medication prompts, emotional regulation, and daily routines
n
- Encourage participation in community,
therapy, and independent-living activities
n
- Maintain clear and accurate documentation (shift notes, incident reports, etc.)
n
- Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary and clinical team
n
n

Essential Requirements
n
n
- Minimum 5 years' experience in behavioural or mental health support
n
- Certificate III or IV in Disability, Individual Support, or Mental Health (or equivalent)
n
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check & Working with Children Check
n
- Current First Aid and CPR Certification
n
- Valid Driver's Licence and reliable transport
n
- Strong interpersonal skills, reliability, and emotional resilience
n
n
Highly Regarded
n
n
- Experience in restrictive practice safeguards and PBS plan implementation
n
- Training in trauma-informed care, de-escalation, or mental health first aid
n
- Experience supporting participants with complex diagnoses
n
n
