Job Description

Senior ICT Officer – Business Improvement

n

Douglas Shire Council is seeking a Senior ICT Officer - Business Improvement to identify, analyse and drive opportunities for continuous business improvement through the effective use of ICT-enabled solutions.

n

Position Objectives

n

Business Improvement:

n

n
- Partner with business stakeholders to understand underlying businesschallenges and translate them into sustainable, value-driven service-deliveryimprovements.
n
- Lead and contribute to project initiatives that modernise systems,streamline processes, and enhance Council's service-delivery capability.
n

n

Operational support – Applications:

n

n
- A focus on applications and specifically Council's Enterprise Suite -including performing data manipulation / correction, problem solving and reportwriting.
n
- Perform systems maintenance / administration and upgrades.
n

n

Other:

n

n
- Contribute to the design and future planning of ICT related processes andsystems.
n
- Participate and provide advice and input incorporate planning initiatives, projects and working groups.
n

n

About You

n

Our ideal candidate will have:

n

Minimum undergraduate business degree and / or significant experience inan Information Technology related discipline.

n

n
- Current Queensland driver's licence.
n
- Demonstrated experience in managing projects from drafting businesscases through stakeholder coordination, scoping,change management, schedules and benefit realization.
n




- Demonstrated experience in solution design with an analytical approach toproblem resolution.
n
- Broad understanding of Financial Systems and practices.
n
- Demonstrated high level proficiency / experience in writing technical andprocess documentation.
n

n

Experience in supporting and maintaining applications.

n

Demonstrated experience working with SQL data manipulation and related tools such as DB Visualiser and Crystal Report Writer.

n

Demonstrated experience with Microsoft technologies, Active directory, Windows Desktop & Server OS, File & Print services, computer peripherals including printers, scanners, USB devices and scanners.

n

Demonstrated strong customer service orientation, with the ability tocommunicate clearly and professionally with staff across a broad range oftechnical skill levels.

n

Proven experience working effectively in a collaborative team setting, with a commitment to building positive working relationships and contributing to shared objectives.

n

Well‐developed time management and problem‐solving skills, with the capacity to prioritise and undertake a diverse range of tasks in a structured, professional, and analytical manner.

n

Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical concepts,



processes,or designs into concise, audience‐appropriate information, along withexperience providing guidance, mentoring, and training support to businessusers.

n
