Port Stephens Accountants & Business Advisors is a progressive and client-focused accounting practice providing taxation, accounting, SMSF, and business advisory services to individuals, businesses, and self-managed superannuation funds.

As our firm continues to grow, we are looking for a motivated Trainee or Intermediate Accountant to join our team. Whether you are just starting your accounting career or have a few years of public practice experience, we are committed to helping you develop your technical skills and progress professionally.

About the Role

n

Working closely with our experienced accountants, you will assist with:

n

n
- Preparation of individual, company, trust and partnership tax returns
n
- Preparation of financial statements
n
- BAS and IAS preparation
n
- General bookkeeping and reconciliations
n
- Preparation of workpapers and supporting documentation
n
- Assisting with SMSF accounting and compliance (training provided)
n
- Liaising with clients via phone, email and face-to-face
n
- Using cloud-based accounting software including Xero and other up-to-date practice management systems
n

About You

n





We are looking for someone who:

n

n
- Is studying or has completed a degree in Accounting or Commerce (or is willing to undertake study for a trainee position)
n
- Has excellent written and verbal communication skills
n
- Is organised with strong attention to detail
n
- Has a positive attitude and willingness to learn
n
- Enjoys working as part of a team
n
- Has good computer skills, with Microsoft Office experience
n
- Experience with Xero is desirable but not essential
n
