A Federal Government Department is looking to engage 2 Data Engineers to support the delivery of a range of solutions centred on data migration, data integration, data pipelines and enhancing the department's analytics capabilities.

n

Initial 12 month contract with a 12 month extension options out to August 2028 (2 years total)

n

Estimated start date August 2026 (pending onboarding and availability)

n

An NV1 Security clearance required (you must be an Australian Citizen to go through the vetting process).

n

Full time 40 hour work week. Hourly rate contract

n

Preferred Location: Canberra, ACT

n

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

n

n
- Assist with the selection and development of designing engineering methods, tools, and techniques for on-premise and hybrid data engineering solutions
n
- Implement and assist in developing structure and data storing for usage in analytics and sharing with applications
n
- Assist in designing, developing, and implementing structured and unstructured data pipelines ensuring data is fit for purpose
n
- Understand the integration, consolidation, curation, migration,



and transformation of data and aligns to relevant guidelines
n
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to determine the required data sets and analysis tools
n

n

Required Skills:

n

n
- Advanced SQL skills to extract, explore, and manipulate complex, large-scale datasets
n
- Experience delivering Microsoft 365 solutions will be highly regarded
n
- Experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks or Power BI would be desirable
n
- Practical competency in programming languages like Python for automation and data manipulation
n
- Experience designing, building, and maintaining automated data pipelines and integration workflows
n
- Familiarity with relational/non-relational databases and cloud or hybrid data environments in Azure
n
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering, data warehousing, or analytics roles
n
