Active Kids Early Learning Centre – Gatton College QLD

Active Kids Early Learning Centre is seeking an experienced Assistant Director and/or Educational Leader to join our team in Gatton College, QLD 4345. This is a full-time position that plays a vital strategic role in supporting the leadership and educational direction of our centre. As Assistant Director and/or Educational Leader, you will work alongside our management team to ensure the delivery of high-quality early childhood education and care, whilst fostering a nurturing and stimulating setting for all children in our care. This role is integral to our commitment to educational excellence, staff development, and creating positive outcomes for the children and families we serve.

Key responsibilities

- Supporting the Director in the strategic planning, implementation, and evaluation of educational programmes that align with the Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Standards
- Providing educational leadership and mentorship to early childhood educators and support staff within the centre
- Developing, reviewing and enhancing curriculum planning and delivery to ensure engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences for all children
- Fostering a positive and inclusive culture that prioritises child wellbeing, safety, and development
- Collaborating with staff to monitor and assess children's learning and developmental progress
- Supporting professional development and training initiatives for all team members




- Maintaining compliance with relevant legislation, regulations and quality standards governing early childhood services
- Liaising with families, providing regular communication regarding children's progress and centre operations
- Contributing to quality improvement processes and undertaking regular reflective practice
- Assisting with the day-to-day operations and management of the centre as required

What we're looking for

- A valid Early Childhood Education and Care qualification (Diploma or Degree level minimum)
- Current Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain one
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Standards
- Proven experience working within early childhood education and care services, ideally including experience in a leadership or supervisory role
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with staff, children, and families
- Ability to mentor, coach and support educators in developing their professional practice
- Experience in curriculum planning, implementation and evaluation
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities
- Sound understanding of child protection, duty of care and safeguarding responsibilities
- Availability to work a range of shifts 6:00am to 6:00pm Monday to Friday
