Electrician / Automation Engineer - Manufacturing

The Chance

n

Reporting to the Electrical Team Leader, you will provide technical support to ensure equipment availability and reliability. This will include fault-finding, proactive and planned maintenance, and the implementation of machine improvements for all drive, PLC and field device plant equipment.

n

This is primarily a day shift role with occasional support required for afternoon shifts. You will be part of a supportive, single-site based team where safety and delivering on our promise to customers is paramount.

n

Key responsibilities

n

Our ideal candidate would have the following skills, qualifications and experience:

n

Strong safety focus & demonstrated knowledge of WHS regulations

n

Excellent communication & interpersonal skills

n

Advanced Diploma (or Degree in Electrical Engineering)

n

Manage and execute electrical projects onsite

n

Execute preventative and breakdown maintenance to maximise equipment uptime and reliability

n





Diagnose and resolve electrical, instrumentation and control faults efficiently

n

Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to optimise plant performance

n

Contribute to continuous improvement and root cause analysis initiatives

n

Ensure compliance with safety standards, procedures, and site requirements

n

Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation

n

Siemens PLC and HMI knowledge advantageous

n

Proven experience in PLC and AC/DC drive systems (Siemens, ABB, Control Techniques)

n

Experience & knowledge of functional safety integration with PLC & drive systems

n

Experience in Electrical drafting software (Eplan, Autodesk)

n

TUV functional safety certification

n

Superior fault-finding & troubleshooting skills across industrial electrical & control systems (AC & DC drive diagnostic experience)

n

High degree of accuracy & attention to detail

n

Experience in industrial, mining or manufacturing environments

n

The ability to work both independently & as part of a team

n

Forklift and EWP licensing advantageous

n

Knowledge in SAP advantageous

n

High Voltage training advantageous

n

Knowledge of Profibus and Profinet communications advantageous

n

AC & DC drive programming and diagnostic experience
