Optical Assistant / Dispenser (Full Time)
n Location: Margate, Redcliffe Peninsula

n

Dwyer & Ross Optometry has been providing trusted eye care to the Redcliffe community for over 60 years. As our practice continues to grow, we're looking to welcome a full-time team member who is interested in building a long-term career within the practice.

n

This is a diverse, hands-on role with the opportunity to develop your skills across both dispensing and practice operations, with future progression into greater responsibility for the right person.

About the Role

n

You'll play an integral role in both the patient experience and the day-to-day running of the practice. Your responsibilities will include:

n

- Managing front desk reception and patient interactions
n
- Coordinating appointments, recalls, and maintaining accurate patient records
n
- Handling phone and email enquiries with professionalism and confidence
n
- Processing payments (EFTPOS, HICAPS) and supporting daily banking tasks
n
- Assisting patients with frame selection and optical dispensing
n
- Supporting the overall flow and organisation of the practice
n

Who We're Looking For

n

We're seeking someone who is organised, proactive,



and interested in growing with the practice over time.

- Previous experience in optical, healthcare, or a customer-facing environment
n
- Strong communication skills with a polished and professional manner
n
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational ability
n
- Confident with computers and quick to learn new systems
n
- A proactive, team-focused approach with the confidence to take initiative
n

n

Experience in optical dispensing and exposure to practice administration will be highly regarded, particularly where you've taken on additional responsibility or supported the running of a business.
