About the Company & Role:
n Our client is one of Australia's Leading Waste Management Companies, known for their commitment to sustainability and environmental innovation.
n They are currently seeking a Chemist to join their team in a full-time ongoing role, with strong potential to become permanent!
n Unique opportunity for individuals with a Science background to gain valuable, hands‐on experience in an Industrial Chemistry Setting.

Duties:

n

n
- Organise and unpack chemical waste
n
- Sort chemicals into their classes
n
- Decant and dispose chemical waste
n
- Package chemical waste for destruction
n
- Wear PPE (full-face respirators, chemical suits, face shields, etc.)
n
- Test chemicals to determine their composition and flammability
n

n

Key Considerations:

n

n
- Primarily a warehouse/yard-based role (not a lab environment)
n
- Majority of work is hands‐on/manual
n




- Manual handling required (lifting up to 25kg drums)
n
- Exposure to a wide range of chemicals (from basic to more complex materials
n

n

Skills & Experience:

n

n
- Tertiary qualifications in Science or Engineering
n
- Knowledge of safe chemical handling
n
- Previous warehouse experience - highly regarded
n
- Ability to lift up to 25kg
n
- Can-do attitude, enthusiastic to work
n
- Ability to work in a rapid‐paced environment
n
