About the role
n
Council is seeking an experienced and motivated Systems & Management Accountant to join our Finance team. This is an exciting opportunity for a finance skilled with strong accounting knowledge, financial systems expertise, and a passion for process improvement to play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality financial management and reporting across the organisation.
n
Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
n
n
- Lead the maintenance, enhancement and continuous improvement of Council's Financial Management Information System (FMIS), ensuring data integrity and reliable financial reporting
n
- Support the preparation of Council's Annual Budget, Quarterly Budget Reviews and Long Term Financial Plan
n
- Partner with stakeholders across the organisation to improve financial processes, reporting and system functionality
n
- Develop and maintain financial reports, dashboards and reporting tools to deliver meaningful business insights
n
- Coordinate testing, implementation and support for financial system upgrades, enhancements and new functionality
n
- Provide expert advice, training and support to users while driving projects that improve efficiency and strengthen financial management
n

Qualifications, Skills & Experience
n
n
- Degree-qualified in Accounting with CPA/CA membership (or working towards)
n
- Demonstrated experience in management accounting, budgeting and financial reporting within a complex organisation
n
- Extensive experience with TechnologyOne or a similar ERP/Financial Management Information System (FMIS)
n
- Proven experience in developing reports using system report writers such as XLOne
n
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a track record of improving financial systems and business processes
n
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, with the ability to develop meaningful financial reports and insights
n
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver outstanding customer service
n
