The Australian Digital Health Agency leads the national effort to digitally enable Australia’s health system. We support the delivery of person‑centred, connected healthcare through the development and adoption of digital health services and systems. Our work includes managing My Health Record, Electronic prescriptions, and the 1800MEDICARE app, ensuring a healthier future for all Australians through connected healthcare.
Reporting to the Director, Cyber Solutions, the Manager, Cyber Security Architecture leads the Cyber Security Architecture team and oversees the delivery of security architecture, advisory and assurance services across the Agency.
You will ensure security requirements are embedded within projects from design through to implementation, provide authoritative advice on cyber architecture patterns and controls, and support risk‑based security decision‑making aligned with the Agency's cyber security strategy and roadmap.
This role offers significant autonomy and influence, requiring strong stakeholder engagement, people leadership and technical cyber security expertise.

The key duties of the position include:
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Cyber Security Architecture team and day‑to‑day operational activities.
- Partner with enterprise architects, solution architects, product owners and delivery teams to drive secure‑by‑design outcomes.
- Provide expert cyber security architecture advice and guidance to internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop and implement security architecture plans aligned to the Agency's cyber strategy and roadmap.
- Lead cyber risk assessments and recommend effective security controls and mitigations.
- Ensure compliance with key government security frameworks including the ISM, PSPF and Essential Eight.
- Oversee architecture assurance activities and ensure solutions appropriately manage cyber security risk.
- Coach, mentor and develop team capability to achieve high-performance outcomes.
Essential Criteria
- Experience leading or managing cyber security teams.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and leadership skills.
- Experience conducting cyber security risk assessments and implementing security controls.
- Strong knowledge of the Information Security Manual (ISM),
NIST Cyber Security Framework (CSF) and ISO 27000 standards.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in ICT, Systems Engineering, Cyber Security or equivalent industry experience.
Eligibility
Australian citizenship is a mandatory eligibility requirement. Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain both a national police clearance and a Baseline security clearance, with the capacity to attain a higher-level clearance if required by the Agency.

Salary: This role offers between $124,583 - $142,089 plus 15.4% superannuation depending on skills and experience.
