We're now looking for an experienced Financial Controller to become a key member of our leadership team.

n

This isn't a role for someone who wants to sit behind a spreadsheet all day.

n

We're looking for someone who enjoys getting out into the business, working alongside project managers and operational staff, helping them understand the numbers and make better commercial decisions.

You'll be equally comfortable presenting to senior management, mentoring the finance team, improving systems and rolling up your sleeves when needed.

About the Role

n

Reporting to the General Manager and Director, you'll lead the finance function and play a significant role in the commercial success of the business.

n

You'll ensure the business has accurate financial information, strong financial controls and meaningful reporting while partnering with operational leaders to improve project profitability and cash flow.

n

This is a genuine leadership role where you'll influence business decisions rather than simply report on them.

n

Key Responsibilities

n

- Lead all financial reporting and compliance activities
n




- Prepare monthly management accounts
n
- Deliver insightful financial analysis and commercial recommendations
n
- Prepare annual budgets and rolling forecasts
n
- Manage cash flow forecasting and working capital
n
- Oversee year-end reporting
n
- Manage taxation obligations including GST, BAS, payroll tax and FBT
n
- Maintain strong internal controls and governance
n

Commercial & Operational Support

n

n
- Partner with Project Managers to improve project profitability
n
- Review project performance, margins and forecasting
n
- Monitor WIP, cost to complete and project cash flow
n
- Assist with tender pricing and commercial reviews where required
n
- Identify financial risks and opportunities across the business
n
- Develop dashboards and meaningful KPIs for operational managers
n

Leadership

n

n
- Lead, mentor and develop the finance team
n
- Build strong relationships across every area of the business
n
- Drive continuous improvement of finance systems and processes
n
- Champion technology and automation initiatives
n
- Support the senior team with strategic planning and business growth
n

n

About You

n

You'll be an experienced Financial Controller or Senior Finance Manager who enjoys working in a fast-moving environment.

n





You'll also bring:

n

n
- CA or CPA qualification
n
- 8+ years' senior finance experience
n
- Experience within construction, civil, infrastructure, engineering or contracting businesses
n
- Robust project accounting knowledge
n
- Budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management expertise
n
- Excellent Excel and financial systems skills
n
- Strong commercial acumen
n
- Outstanding communication and leadership skills
n
- Experience with construction ERP systems such as Vista, Jobpac, Pronto or similar will be highly regarded.
