Job Description

A leading ASX listed financial services/ fintech organisation based is seeking a Senior Cloud Network Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis. Role can be based in Sydney or Melbourne.

Responsibilities:

- Design and standardisation of cloud networking architectures across AWS, with alignment to GCP and NSX environments
n
- Lead operational support and escalation for cloud networking platforms, driving best practices in automation and operations
n
- Build, automate, and manage cloud network infrastructure using Terraform and cloud-native tooling
n
- Drive best practices in network design, security, scalability, and operational excellence
n
- Contribute to cloud network strategy and roadmap, ensuring alignment with business and security priorities
n
- Develop and maintain reusable Terraform modules and support infrastructure standardisation
n
- Collaborate with DevOps, security, and engineering teams to deliver reliable and secure network solutions
n
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers, supporting capability uplift across the team
n
- Own operational support and escalation for cloud networking platforms, including incident response when required
n




- Maintain transparent and up-to-date documentation across architecture, infrastructure, and processes
n
- Participate in after-hours deployments and support activities as part of a shared team responsibility
n

Requirements:

n

n
- Proven experience in cloud and network engineering roles (typically 5+ years)
n
- Network engineering background
n
- Terraform
n
- Solid experience designing complex cloud networking solutions (e.g., segmentation, routing, hybrid connectivity, security controls)
n
- Experience with AWS
n
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical decisions, influence outcomes, and mentor others
n
- Experience with SDN technologies such as NSX- desirable
n
- Familiarity with version control and CI/CD tools (e.g., Git, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps)
n
- Understanding of cloud security, identity, and architecture principles
n
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
n
- Relevant certification (or willingness to obtain), such as AWS Advanced Networking Specialty
