We are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance and Grounds Officer to join our team at one of our valued school clients in Melbourne's south eastern suburbs.
n

About the Role
n
Reporting to the Facilities Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining the school's grounds, gardens and buildings to the highest standard. This is a diverse role combining horticultural, grounds and general maintenance responsibilities, with a robust focus on proactive property improvements and exceptional customer service.
n
Your responsibilities will include:
n
n
- Maintaining lawns, gardens and landscaped areas
n
- Mowing, edging, pruning, mulching, planting and weed control
n
- Undertake general maintenance and handyman repairs
n
- Support school events with room and grounds set-up
n
- Coordinate and supervise contractors on site
n
- Identification of maintenance issues and implementing proactive improvements
n
- Maintaining a safe, clean and well‐presented school environment
n
- Building positive relationships with school staff, contractors and the Danihers team
n
n
About You
n
You are reliable, proactive and enjoy working outdoors. You take pride in your work,
have excellent attention to detail and are committed to delivering outstanding service.
n
To be successful you will have:
n
n
- Previous experience in grounds, gardens and general maintenance in a similar environment
n
- Cert III in Horticulture
n
- Experience operating horticultural equipment and machinery
n
- Strong handyman skills with the ability to undertake minor repairs
n
- Plant identification knowledge
n
- Demonstrated experience working with a variety of stakeholders
n
- A proactive approach with excellent problem‐solving skills
n
- Outstanding communication and customer service skills
n
- The ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively within a fast‐paced environment.
n
- A current Chemical Users/Weed Spraying Certificate (or equivalent)
n
- A current Working with Children Check
n
- A current National Police Check
n
- A current Australian Driver Licence
n
- Experience working within a school or education environment will be highly regarded.
n
