Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD) instrument technician

Hervey Bay Surgical Hospital – Hervey Bay QLD

We are seeking experienced or willingness to train as a Sterilization Technicians to join our team in our private surgical hospital.

n

You will be responsible the reprocessing of Reusable Medical Devices in accordance with AS/NZS 5369. The role will also include the reprocessing of endoscopes for our endoscopy procedural room.

n

You will participate in a 6 day week roster, with an occasional Sunday shift

n

Casual or permanent part time/full time

n

Successful applicant must possess;

n

- Ability to adhere to the infection control and sterilization standards
n
- Ability to prioritise tasks to meet deadlines within a quick paced and sometimes challenging environment
n




- Flexibility with availability to work, e.g. days, evenings and weekends
n
- Certificate 3 in sterilization or willingness to work towards within the first year of employment
n
- Ability to perform duties in all work areas of the department (decontamination, assembly, sterilization and loans)
n
- Previous endoscopy reprocessing not essential, willingness learn
n
- GENCA certificate in reprocessing of endoscopes, or will to obtain on employment
n

Condition of employment is that candidates will provide evidence of Vaccine Preventable Diseases prior to employment.
