About the role:
n
We have an exciting opportunity for a Part-Time Specialist Practice Nurse to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term maternity leave contract, with a strong possibility of extension for the right candidate. This role works across both of our Southport locations at Gold Coast Private Hospital and The Brickworks Ferry Road.
n
Our nursing team operates on a rotating roster, Monday to Friday, between 7:00 am and 7:00 pm. This position offers 8 shifts per fortnight, with each shift being 8 hours in duration. There is also the chance to pick up an additional shift each fortnight to support business needs, where available.

On any given day you will find yourself:
n
Treatment Rooms:
n
Assisting our specialist Doctors and GPs in treatment rooms by preparing for required procedures and chaperoning where necessary.
n
Manage specimen preparation, handling and storage.
n
Sterilising of instruments and equipment used in treatment rooms.
n
Management of in-clinic wound reviews.
n
Quality and Compliance:
n
Work with the nursing team to ensure allregular audits are conducted along with the required reports and complete clinical audits within allocated timeframes.
n
Be accountable for the management ofpatients' confidential medical records.
n
Adhere to clinical guidelines regarding patient identification.
n
Have a working understanding of the National Immunisation Program.
n
Communication:
n
Respond to verbal and written medical requests from the Specialist's, GP's and allied health practitioners with a professional and timely manner.
n
Support our Fertility patients along their patient journey from including patient history calls and other relevant and timely communication.
n
Triage, manage and respond to patients' medical enquiries and communication within the nursing scope of practice, involving and updating Specialist's and GP's where necessary.
n
Patient support regarding specialised oncology care via phone, email or face to face consultations.

Teamwork:

Collaborate in a professional and efficient manner with all team members.
n
Demonstrate the ability to work both autonomously as well as part of the broader Grace team.
n
When required, support the Grace Private Administration team with front desk support within scope of competence.
n
Qualifications and Medical Competencies:
n
Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA Registered), or
n
Enrolled Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA Registered)
n
Current holder of CPR certification, and ability to maintain certification
n
Knowledge of gynecology, fertility and specialised general practice conditions and procedures
