Australian Drafting & Design is seeking an experienced Construction Supervisor to coordinate mechanical installation works at a major operating process facility in Melbourne.

The successful candidate will take ownership of day-to-day site delivery, scheduling, contractor coordination, safety documentation, and practical installation planning. This is a hands‐on brownfield role working independently under the oversight of the Capital Project Engineer.

Construction Supervisor – Mechanical Installation
n
n
- Coordinate daily mechanical installation activities.
n
- Prepare schedules, work plans, JSEAs, SWMS, and lifting‐plan sketches.
n
- Engage contractors and support installation scope discussions.
n
- Coordinate welding, scaffolding, rigging, lifting, and access requirements.
n
- Develop practical installation concepts to support engineering design.
n
- Monitor contractor performance and stop unsafe work where necessary.
n
- Complete high‐risk work permits for approval.
n
n
Essential Requirements
n
n
- 5+ years of mechanical construction or installation supervision experience.
n
- Brownfield experience within an operating process plant.
n
- Robust knowledge of welding, scaffolding, rigging, and constrained‐site installations.
n
- Ability to produce schedules and project documentation independently.
n
- Good Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
n
- Current Working at Heights and Confined Space Entry tickets.
n

Desirable
n
n
- Forklift licence, highly desirable.
n
- EWP, rigging, dogging, or High Risk Work Licence.
n
- Mechanical trade background.
n
- Food, GMP, or hygiene‐sensitive manufacturing experience.
n
n
