About the team
n
The Women's is a centre of excellence for perinatal care, research and education, with more than 7,000 births per year.
n
The Maternity Service at the Women's is structured to provide quality care to women by the most appropriately qualified clinician. General Practitioners in the multidisciplinary teams provide clinical care with obstetricians, midwives, trainees, other medical specialists and allied health practitioners to pregnant women.
n
About the role
n
The Consultant general practitioner will participate in the outpatient antenatal clinical care of Women at the Royal Women's Hospital. Specific outpatient sessions will be assigned by mutual agreement after the appointment is made: some of these sessions may require a further application through an Expression of Interest if ongoing.
n
This position is responsible in collaboration with the Clinical Directors and Heads of Unit/ Team Leaders for:

n
- Providing high quality outpatient clinical services to pregnant patients
n
- P laying an active role in training registrars and resident medical officers and participate in the teaching of medical students and other health care trainees attached to the Women's.
n
- Participating in quality improvement initiatives, including guideline review
n
- Assisting the heads of Units with some administrative and quality improvement responsibilities
n
n
About you
n
Experience/Qualifications/Competencies
n
n
- General practitioner fully registered with Australian Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with no conditions for both general and specialist registration (essential)
n
- Fellow of FRACGP or ACCRM (essential)
n
- Post graduate obstetric qualification (DRANZCOG, DRCOG, CWH or equivalent) (essential)
n
- Highly experienced in providing quality pregnancy care to patients (essential)
n
- Shared maternity care affiliate at The Womens' (desirable)
n
n

The Classification and Salary scale will be dependent on experience, and you will be appointed and in accordance to the Australian Medical Association ( AMA) Victoria – Victorian Public Health Sector Medical Specialists Enterprise Agreement 2022-2026
