Testing & Quality Engineer - Electrical Switchboard Systems

RMS Manufacturing is seeking a skilled Testing & Quality Engineer to join our team and support the testing, verification, and quality assurance of electrical switchboards.

n

This role is ideal for someone with strong electrical testing experience, a sharp eye for detail, and the confidence to work across engineering and production You will play a key role in ensuring our switchboards, distribution boards, and control panels are built, tested, documented, and delivered to the required standards.

n

Key responsibilities

n

Conduct functional, electrical, and mechanical testing of main switchboards, distribution boards, and control panels

n

Verify compliance with relevant standards, including AS/NZS 61439, AS/NZS 3000, and Victorian SIRs

n

Perform insulation resistance, continuity, torque, protection relay, and operational testing

n

Plan, prepare, and lead Factory Acceptance Testing with customers and project stakeholders

n

Maintain accurate test records, checklists, reports, and sign-off documentation

n

Identify non-conformances, complete root-cause analysis, and coordinate corrective actions

n

Review drawings, schematics, and BOMs for accuracy and manufacturability

n

Provide remote and on-site support during installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting

n

Work closely with engineering and production,



electrical fitters and sheetmetal teams

n

About you

n

To be successful, you will have:

n

A degree in Electrical Engineering and/or an electrical licence

n

Experience with switchboards, distribution boards, control panels, or industrial electrical equipment

n

Strong understanding of Australian electrical standards and safety requirements

n

Experience using electrical testing equipment such as multimeters and insulation testers

n

The ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and single-line diagrams

n

Strong documentation, reporting, and communication skills

n

A practical, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving ability

n
