Technical Writer

Position Overview We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Technical Writer to join our team and produce clear, accurate, and user-friendly documentation that supports both internal operations and end-user understanding. This role is central to bridging the gap between complex technical concepts and accessible written content across a range of formats and platforms.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
- Research, develop, and maintain a broad range of technical documentation including user manuals, handbooks, training materials, standard operating procedures, and multimedia content
n
- Translate complex technical information into clear, concise, and accurate content tailored to the intended audience, whether end users, internal teams, or stakeholders
n
- Collaborate closely with engineers, developers, product managers, and subject matter experts to gather information and verify technical accuracy across all documentation
n
- Plan, organise, and manage documentation projects from initial brief through to final publication, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are consistently met
n
- Review and edit existing documentation to identify gaps, inconsistencies, or outdated content, and update materials to reflect product or process changes
n
- Develop and apply style guides, templates, and documentation standards to ensure consistency in tone, format, and terminology across all written outputs
n
- Produce content for digital and print formats including online help systems, knowledge bases, e-learning modules, and technical reference guides
n
- Liaise with stakeholders to understand documentation requirements and translate business or technical briefs into structured, reader-focused content
n
- Conduct quality assurance reviews of documentation prior to release, checking for technical accuracy, readability, grammar, and adherence to brand and style guidelines
n
- Support the development of training materials and contribute to onboarding programmes by producing clear instructional content for new users or staff
n
- Manage version control and document repositories, ensuring all materials are correctly filed, versioned, and accessible to relevant teams
n

Required Qualifications & Skills
n
n
- Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline
n
- Demonstrated experience in a technical writing role, ideally within a corporate, technology, or engineering environment
n
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
n
- Proven ability to research, interpret, and document complex technical subjects in a clear and accessible manner
n
- Proficiency in documentation tools such as MadCap Flare, Confluence, Microsoft Word, or equivalent platforms
n
- Experience working with content management systems, version control tools, and document repositories
n
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
n
- Ability to work collaboratively across cross-functional teams and build effective relationships with technical and non-technical stakeholders
n
- Sound understanding of documentation best practices, including the use of style guides such as the Microsoft Manual of Style or equivalent
n

Preferred Qualifications
n
n
- Postgraduate qualification or professional certification in Technical Communication, such as a Certificate IV in Professional Writing and Editing or equivalent
n
- Experience with API documentation, software development lifecycle (SDLC), or working within Agile project environments
n
- Familiarity with graphic design or multimedia tools such as Adobe Illustrator, Snagit, or Camtasia to support visual documentation
n
- Exposure to single-sourcing methodologies and structured authoring frameworks such as DITA
n
- Prior experience in a regulated industry such as healthcare, finance, or engineering where documentation compliance is essential
n
