All part-time extracurricular employees must be a minimum of twenty-one (21) years of age.

Education

n

n
- BA/BS from a regionally accredited program/university in FLDOE certificate subject area- REQ
n
- Certification: Florida Instructional Certification (any subject)- REQ
n
- OR Education: BA/BS from a regionally accredited program/university-PREF
n
- Certification: Florida Athletic Coaching Certification [Qualified 5 Year or Temporary* 3 Year Athletic Coaching Certificate issued by the State of Florida Department of Education or be eligible and apply upon extension of offer]- REQ
n

Experience

n

n
- Two (2) years documented sport specific and age level (Secondary) specific (Varsity vs. Freshman/JV) coaching experience.
n
- Extensive knowledge of the sport at the competition level.
n




- Demonstrated leadership skills and the management of large groups of students/athletes
n

n

Substitutions

n

n
- College level coaching may substitute for High School coaching experience
n

n

- * Temporary Athletic Coaching Certificates are not renewable by the State of Florida.
n
- To obtain a five year (Professional) Athletic Coaching Certificate issued by the State of Florida Dept of Education, you will be required to Complete Sports Specific, Sports Medicine, and Sports Theory and receive a valid CPR card from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
